Two EE’s Winery Wine Pairings for the #GreatAmericanTakeout

By: Two EE’s Winery

While social distancing and hunkering down at home, many of us are taking advantage of the local restaurants offering takeout.  It’s a great time to support businesses in your neighborhood – and ditch cooking a few nights a week.

After long days of e-learning and adjusting to the “new normal” of quarantine,  what better way to enjoy your yummy takeout than by pairing it with an equally yummy wine?

Pizza, burgers, tacos, or Thai — Two-EE’s Winery has wine pairing suggestions for whatever your family is craving tonight:

PIZZA AND BURGERS

Barreja

This flirty, off-dry red blend wine pairs perfectly with a juicy cheeseburger. The rich flavor with a subtle sweetness stands up to grilled beef and the crispy fries of the American classic. This is the perfect wine to go with your favorite Bravas burger — especially the Snooooop or Double Bacon Cheeseburger.

Aglianico

Dry reds like our Aglianico, which is aged in fire-toasted oak for six months, elevate the flavors of smoky, wood-fired pizzas. This is a great bottle to enjoy with your 800 Degrees pizza order, whether you crave one of their signature creations or choose your own toppings.

BARBECUE

Catawba

This semi-sweet yet tart wine is perfect for springtime dining. Enjoy it chilled with your favorite barbecue takeout or picnic fare, like Italian pasta salad and finger sandwiches (hello Memorial Day!).

Tannat

Bold Tannat’s strong tannic structure, smoky notes and jammy finish make it the ideal companion for grilled meat dishes. It’s even delicious with earthy mushrooms!

Pink Diamond

This glitzy, wine is delightful on its own and even better with food that matches its bright and refreshing flavor. Try it with feta cheese, or grilled corn on the cob. It’s delightful!

TACOS

Vignoles

Vignoles is a balanced dry fruity white with a tart finish. We love this bright, citrus-forward wine with Mexican food, especially tacos from SolBird Kitchen & Tap. We’re obsessed with the Baja Shrimp, but you can choose your favorite!

ASIAN

Plum

This sweet wine with a tart finish is a perfect match for your favorite Asian takeout. We especially love it with Nawa’s Pad Thai, or Copper Spoon’s Korean BBQ Wings. Our Plum wine tones down the heat so you can enjoy the flavor of the spice. Plum is also great with dessert, especially dark chocolate!

Traminette

This honest-to-goodness off-dry white is made with Indiana’s official wine grape. It’s light and crisp, making it a great pairing with rich, spicy food, like your favorite sushi roll. Try it with your next Naked Tchopstix or Umi order

DESSERT

Plonqé

Our classic sweet red wine pairs well with almost anything, but we recommend pairing it with dessert. Chocolate and peanut butter are perfect pairings with Plonqé. If you’re baking at home, try gooey brownies. If you’re reaching for a DeBrand’s peanut butter cup, pour a glass of Plonqé to enjoy with it.
