Pool Time with Plonqé: Summer Cocktails made with Two-EE’s Wines

By: Two EE’s Winery

Ahh, summertime! It’s so close we can almost taste it! Whether you’re firing up the grill or floating in the pool, we have the inside scoop on summer cocktails made with Two-EE’s Winery’s most popular wines – mom-tested, and approved 😉

So break out some ice and your cocktail shaker, and get ready to make some new girls’ night drinks to keep you cool all summer long:

Boat Day: Tropical Sangria

If you are venturing out on the lake, we suggest a tropical, fruity sangria. This recipe is batched for big groups, but you can always make ahead and keep it in the fridge to enjoy over a few days.

1 (750ml) bottle  Two EE’s White Sangria wine, 1 cup pineapple juice, 1/2 cup passionfruit or mango juice, 1 cup dark rum, and 2 cups frozen chopped tropical fruit of your choice (mango, kiwi, pineapple, tangerines, etc.)

Mix all of the ingredients in a pitcher and chill for a few hours before serving.

Lazy Sunday Brunch: Diamond French 75

While you might traditionally make mimosas or a Bloody Mary bar for brunch, we recommend this bright and slightly-sweet cocktail inspired by the classic French 75. It’s light and crisp, especially dining al fresco, basking in summer sunshine.

To make each glass, you’ll need 7 oz. of Two EE’s Diamond wine, 2 oz. gin, 1 oz. simple syrup and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Shake it in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into a champagne flute and garnish with a lemon twist. If you’re feeling extra fancy, top with your favorite bubbly. Voilà!

Girls’ Night: CranApple Cosmo

What’s better than getting together with your best friends and enjoying cosmos on the patio? As you catch up, you can wind down with this fun twist on the classic Cosmopolitan.

For each serving, combine 1 oz. vodka, 2oz. of Two EE’s CranApple wine, 1 oz. of Cranberry juice, .5 oz of simple syrup and a squeeze of lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.

Shake and pour into a martini glass. Garnish with a lime twist if desired.

Backyard Hang: Rosé Wine Spritzer

Sometimes, the best summer days are spent in our own backyards — whether we’re swimming in our pools, tanning on the patio or lounging in a hammock. The perfect match for relaxing outdoors at home is something sweet and bubbly – like a rosé wine spritzer!

To make it, you will need: 1 (750ml) bottle  Two EE’s Pink Diamond wine, 1 pint fresh strawberries, fresh mint leaves (optional), and key lime LaCroix seltzer.

Place a few slices of strawberry in the bottom of your glass. Gently muddle with a spoon, and fill each glass halfway with Pink Diamond. Top with sparkling water, and garnish with strawberry slices and mint leaves as desired. For an extra cold finish, use frozen strawberries instead of fresh berries.

Evening Bonfire: Peach Bourbon

There’s something about a crackling fire that fits so well with both bourbon and wine — so we mixed the two together for this fun cocktail.

You will need 7 oz. of Two EE’s Peach wine, 2 oz. of bourbon and .5 to 1 oz. of simple syrup, to taste.

Shake your ingredients together in a cocktail shaker, then pour over ice. Garnish with fresh peach slices.

Date Night: Plonqé Manhattan

A hot date night calls for a refined drink! This take on a Manhattan is smooth and sexy, making it perfect for date night for both you and your significant other.

To make these single-serve cocktails, you’ll need 7 oz. of Two EE’s Plonqé wine, 2 oz. of your favorite bourbon, and a dash of bitters. Shake it in a cocktail shaker and pour it over ice.

Your Cocktail Shopping List

As you can see from these recipes, you only need a few basic ingredients to make a great wine cocktail. Don’t be afraid to experiment and create your new favorite combination!
